The Nurtured Mama Community

– Because mamas need care too.

For many, pregnancy = attention overload. Then, baby is born and it’s ALL eyes on baby. Watching your baby get loved on by family, friends and strangers (from a distance!) is lovely. Of course, we want our children to feel loved. But it’s hard not to start to think…what about me? And not in an attention-seeking, me, me, me kind of a way, but more of an everything feels crazy and new, I don’t recognize myself, I’m trying to figure out how to manage my life- can someone help me? – sort of way.

“In a survey of over 400 women, 78% said they had concerns about the body changes of pregnancy and motherhood, yet less than half of them reported talking about their body-related fears with their friends and partners.” – Does This Pregnancy Make Me Look Fat? By Claire Mysko & Magali Amadeï

End the shame about feeling shame about your body. Let’s start talking about it in a way that might actually help.

“Approximately 70-80% of all new mothers experience some negative feelings or mood swings after the birth of their child. Up to 20% of women suffer from postpartum depression.” –

How does your eating change when you feel overwhelmed or depressed?

Many women I work with report feeling unfamiliar in their bodies; as if they don’t recognize themselves post-delivery.

When you feel bad or unfamiliar in your body, how does this impact your eating?

Mamas need care too.

Let’s get to work. Get help with all of that food and body stuff that happens when life gets crazy post-baby.

Join the Nurtured Mama Community. Here’s how.

The Nurtured Mama Membership

Get prenatal and postpartum nutrition and body image education and support from the comfort of your own home.

The intention of The Nurtured Mama Community is to provide support and resources to mothers who want to move towards wellness while dealing with the food and body stuff that comes up during pregnancy and postpartum.

When moms say they feel uncomfortable in their bodies we typically get responses like, “I have a wrap for that!” or “Drink these shakes to lose the weight!” You won’t be getting that here. We understand that weight is a concern and we definitely want you to talk about it. However, our response won’t be one you’re used to and we hope you find that refreshing.

Now, when you have nutrition and body concerns, you have a safe place to go where you can get expert responses to you questions that center around body confidence, nourishing nutrition and intuitive eating. If you decide you need 1:1 help, we can set you up with discounted online nutrition counseling sessions or get you in touch with a dietitian in your area*.

Our free community is up and running and we plan to roll out plenty of addition support services as part of the program too. As a member of the community, you’ll find out about everything first!

*If you think you’re dealing with an eating disorder, we encourage you to seek care. We are well connected with ED RD’s across the US and can help you find someone in your area to provide you with proper treatment. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for help @

If You’re Pregnant…

Eating during pregnancy can be a little rough. Everyone has an opinion and every opinion seems to tell you something different. Very annoying.

Get the real scoop on nutrition during pregnancy and feel confident navigating the next 9 months of advice givers because you’ll know what’s right for you.

Learn how to…

        • Meet your needs each trimester – go far beyond the textbook guidelines with a look inward for answers.
        • Put weight gain guidelines into context. Find out what is in your control and what isn’t. Cue serenity prayer.
        • Navigate your ever-changing appetite – avoid under doing it, over doing it and how to confidently respond to your uncle who jokes about “eating for two” and asks you if you really need another slice of pizza. Ugh.
        • Deal with all of that body image stuff.
