Eating disorder treatment can be scary and challenging at times. If you are seeking treatment for the first time you may feel very confused and alone. If you are continuing treatment from a higher level of care, you might be nervous about leaving your treatment facility and deciding on a new treatment team to help you continue through the recovery process. Maybe you’ve been in recovery and are concerned about relapsing. Regardless of where you are at in your recovery, my team has the experience and training to continue to move you forward. We understand the physiology, biology and psychology involved and can keep all three in mind when helping you with your eating and exercise.
The members of our team have worked with patients dealing with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, “diabulima,” and “orthorexia” at various levels of care. In addition, Lindsay has a sub-specialty in working with pregnant and postpartum women who are currently battling an eating disorder, are concerned about relapsing or are interested in getting support during the perinatal period.
We strongly believe in taking a multi-disciplinary approach to treating people with eating disorders and will always communicate with your treatment team or work with you to put one in place. As the Registered Dietitian on the team, we work with clients to address their individual challenges with food, weight, exercise and body image through nutrition therapy, nutrition education, meal support and real-life experiences like restaurant outings, mindful meals, and grocery store outings. As intuitive eating experts, we understand that intuitive eating is a long-term goal for some clients and have the expertise to know when it will be supportive to your recovery. Please see the FAQ’s for additional information on our approach. In addition, please visit our Meet the Team page to learn more about the team at Nutrition Instincts.
