TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY – NURTURED MAMA STYLE
I’ve decided to start a new trend for #transformationtuesday and I want you to be part of it!
Cool! What are you looking for?
Stories from moms about how motherhood, pregnancy, infertility, mental health challenges, infant/child feeding challenges, disordered eating, body image etc… have been catalysts for change in your life. Our news feeds are often cluttered with weight loss transformations and, while those can be symbolic for positive changes for some, many of the photos only tell half of the story. I’d like people to hear stories of transformation that have less to do with how we look and more to do with how we feel, our relationship with food/body, sinking into our changed identities, overcoming life’s challenges, etc…
Tell me more!
Who can participate?
Any mommy or mommy-to-be (including anyone going through fertility treatment, planning for adoption, etc…)
That’s me! What should I provide?
A blog, short post (short blog that is posted in its entirety via social media posts…1-2 paragraphs), poem, audio recording, or video. It can be as short or as long as you’d like. Apply first using this link to make sure it’s a good fit for the project. https://goo.gl/forms/q6J4dVM2X1kCP7ZX2
Give me some examples:
Overcoming disordered eating, healing from dieting…
Struggling with infant/child feeding and learning something from that struggle
Shift in body image – maybe your body post-pregnancy isn’t what you expected but you’ve learned to accept it and appreciate it
What body acceptance means to you as a mother
Childbirth expectations – what you wanted, how things went down, what you learned
Motherhood expectations – how your expectations impacted your postpartum experience and what you’ve learned
A letter to yourself pre-motherhood about what you’ve learned/what you wish you’d known
Overcoming a prenatal or postpartum mood disorder
NOTE: If you choose to submit anonymously, please complete the application via the link above (you can omit identifying info in the application) and then send in your story via this link:https://goo.gl/forms/QWuC1Gc6ae9gBz7j2
