Eating Disorder Treatment Centers in California
Author: Associate RD – Andrea Kent, RD, MPH, RDN, CNSC
When looking for more support in recovery from an eating disorder, it can feel overwhelming looking to all of the different treatment centers for care. Although this list is not exhaustive, here are some established eating disorder treatment centers in California to find support and care. If available, we have also indicated whether the program offers inpatient treatment (medical monitoring) residential (live-in) treatment, partial hospitalization program (PHP) which is usually about an 8 hour day, or an intensive-outpatient program (IOP) which is usually about a 4-5 hour day. Stay tuned for future blogs on what those levels of care mean and what to expect if you reach out to a treatment center and go through the “intake process.” We’ll also share what questions to ask to make sure a center is the right fit for you, your child or your loved one. Please note, Nutrition Instincts is not affiliated with any of these programs and is not responsible for the care received. This list is not an endorsement of care but rather a resource to show you the options available. Please do your own research and make sure the center you’re considering is not only experienced in working with your/your loved ones diagnosis but also considers lived experience and honors unique needs.
