Our Mission & Values

You’re probably here because you’ve started to notice the trend is changing. People are tired of being constantly distracted by food and body worries. They’re tired of the tug-of-war with their bodies. They’d rather spend time living IN their lives and bodies instead of distracted and disconnected by the scale, points, intense clean eating or whatever eating plan is trending. They’re looking for another way. You’re looking for another way. One that…

  • Embraces who you are

  • Understands the personal and environmental complexities of health

  • Centers your insight, body and lived experience

  • Is weight inclusive

  • Treats you as a team member

Making peace with food and your body is possible. At any age. At any weight. At any state of health. With any diagnosis. Having a healthy relationship with food and your body is possible. We’re here to walk with you on that journey no matter where you’re starting.

You can be more present in your life by making peace with food and your body.

Whatever it means to you, the Registered Dietitian Nutritionists at Nutrition Instincts are here to support you with it.

Our Mission

Our mission is to help people reduce stress and guilt around food and movement by restoring their trust in their bodies, taking weight obsession out of the equation and re-defining health and self-care so each client can thrive.

Our Values

Open Communication & Collaboration

We are a team. We believe that communication and collaboration are critical. If you have a question – you don’t be afraid to ask it here. If you’re concerned about part of your treatment plan, it’s ok to let us know. Being open and honest with our clients is our top priority. When appropriate (and with your explicit, written permission) we will also collaborate with other medical professionals involved in your wellness. We also believe in family-based treatment and make it a priority to include families when requested or when part of the treatment plan.

Person-Centered

We are working with you. Not your diagnosis. We recognize that each person possesses a wide range of strengths, concerns, emotions, and aspirations. Your story is unique and we’re invested in finding solutions that work for you. In fact, our approach is person-centered by design. We want to help you access your own wisdom in this process. You won’t be getting “do this, not that” orders from us. Our work is personal to each client and great attention will be placed towards getting to know you and what your unique experiences have been with food and your body.

Expertise

We have the experience to help you. Most importantly, we’re Registered Dietitian Nutritionists who are trained to know how to listen. We combine evidence-based treatments with out-of-the-box thinking. We don’t run a “catch-all” nutrition practice. If we don’t have a dietitian who specializes in your needs, we’re not afraid to refer you to others who can properly support you. Luckily we have a growing team of Registered Dietitian Nutritionists who have specialties in areas like eating disorders, intuitive eating, diabetes, pregnancy, postpartum, family feeding and integrative and functional nutrition. We always work within a weight-inclusive framework. Check out our Meet the Team page to learn more.
